Basketball Recap: Jeausean Jones' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Veterans Memorial over New Braunfels

Veterans Memorial was the 46-39 winner over New Braunfels when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Veterans Memorial Patriots fell to the New Braunfels Unicorns 57-51.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jeausean Jones, who posted 11 points and eight rebounds. Those eight boards gave Jones a new career-high. Jamichael Moore was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Veterans Memorial dropped their record down to 16-12 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for New Braunfels, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-11.

Veterans Memorial has already played their next contest, a 60-52 loss against Wagner on the 24th. As for New Braunfels, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 75-56 win against Smithson Valley on the 24th.
