Preview: Rangely Panthers vs. Hayden Tigers
The Rangely Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Hayden Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rangely is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
Last Saturday, things could have been worse for Rangely, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 56-39 loss to North Park.
The losing side was boosted by Marcos Quintana, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Clay Allred, who scored ten points.
Hayden suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Saturday. They were dealt a 59-17 defeat at the hands of Plateau Valley. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Hayden has scored all season.
Rangely has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Hayden, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.
Everything went Rangely's way against Hayden in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as Rangely made off with a 65-40 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rangely since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
