Baseball Recap: Jacobs Triumphs

Jacobs posted their closest win since April 14th on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Lake Zurich Bears. For the Golden Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 4-0 win the Bears walked away with the last time they faced one another back in June of 2021.

Jacobs' victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-13. As for Lake Zurich, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jacobs will host Crystal Lake Central at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Lake Zurich, they will be playing at home against Mundelein at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Bears' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
