Softball Recap: Montgomery County Comes Up Short

Montgomery County blew Wolfe County out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Wolfe County got their revenge. Montgomery County fell just short of Wolfe County by a score of 4-2. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Indians couldn't push the score so high this time.

Ryleigh Martin was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Martin was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Addison Rodgers was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

With the loss, Montgomery County broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-2. As for Wolfe County, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 5-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Montgomery County will square off against Paris at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wolfe County, they will face off against Rowan County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
