Baseball Game Preview: Hollis Tigers vs. Merritt Oilers

The Hollis Tigers will head out to face off against the Merritt Oilers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hollis is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.

On Thursday, Hollis didn't have quite enough to beat Sayre and fell 5-4.

Parker Sykora was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Klay Seddon, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Merritt didn't have quite enough to beat Mangum on Tuesday and fell 7-6.

Merritt now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Hollis, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

Everything went Hollis' way against Merritt in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Hollis made off with an 11-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hollis since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
