The Gibbon Buffaloes will head out on the road to square off against the Amherst Broncos at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gibbon is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
Gibbon suffered their biggest loss since December 12, 2023 on Monday. They took a serious blow against Blue Hill, falling 56-21. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Gibbon has suffered against Blue Hill since January 8, 2019.
Carla Murillo-Corona was Gibbon's leading scorer, having posted seven points.
Claire Clark held things down on the boards with eight rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
Meanwhile, Amherst was just a bucket shy of victory last Tuesday and fell 54-53 to Alma. Amherst has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Gibbon's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Amherst, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
Gibbon took a serious blow against Amherst in their previous meeting back in January of 2022, falling 61-22. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Gibbon was down 43-10.
