Fruita Monument had won eight straight games and Dana Conklin did her part to make it nine on Thursday. The Wildcats blew past the Grand Junction Central Warriors 3-0 for which the team can thank Conklin, who had 17 digs and one assist. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 16 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Fruita Monument never let Grand Junction Central on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-23, 25-21.

Despite the loss, Grand Junction Central saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Delany Nostrand had 11 digs and three aces.

Fruita Monument's victory bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Grand Junction Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
