Baseball Recap: Malone Drops Highest Score of Season Against Bethlehem

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Malone). They put the hurt on the Bethlehem Wildcats with a sharp 24-1 victory on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Malone got a massive performance out of Jasper Cook, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Cook has become a key player for the Tigers: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Proctor, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4.

Cook wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Malone kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Malone moved to 5-9 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak. As for Bethlehem, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Malone beat the Wildcats by a score of 7-4 later that day.
