Volleyball Game Preview: Academy of the Holy A Angels vs. Immaculate Heart Academy Blue Eagles

Academy of the Holy A is 0-10 against Immaculate Heart Academy since September of 2021 but things could change on Thursday. The Angels will challenge the Blue Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Academy of the Holy A is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Mount St. Dominic Academy. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Angels.

Meanwhile, Immaculate Heart Academy made easy work of Kent Place on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 win. The Blue Eagles have beaten the Dragons the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Dragons has come to flipping the script.

The victory didn't come easy: Kent Place scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-20, 25-20.

Academy of the Holy A better focus on containing Kristen Lee and Adrielle Crump as the pair were huge in Immaculate Heart Academy's win. Lee had 13 digs and one block, while Crump had 18 kills and six digs. Lee has been hot for a while, having also posted 15 or more assists the last 25 times she's played. Sophia Mahon was another key player, getting eight kills and three blocks.

The win got Academy of the Holy A back to even at 4-4. As for Immaculate Heart Academy, their record is now 21-5.

Academy of the Holy A couldn't quite get it done against Immaculate Heart Academy when the teams last played back in October as they fell 2-0. Can the Angels avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
