Softball Recap: Jefferson Yellowjackets vs. Woodbury Central Wildcats        
        
		
            
 Jefferson's game  last Thursday was a  loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Monday. They put the hurt on the Woodbury Central Wildcats with a sharp  14-1 victory. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest  win Jefferson has managed all season.
  Carley Steinspring made a splash no matter where she played. She  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Steinspring has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in three consecutive pitching appearances. Steinspring was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Morgan Rasmussen and  Rylee Perrine did most of the damage at the plate:  Rasmussen  scored four  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances, while  Perrine  got on base  in all five of her plate appearances with a  home run and three  RBI.  Taryn Gant was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-4.
 Jefferson's victory bumped their record up to 12-13. As for Woodbury Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-5.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jefferson will take on Le Mars at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Le Mars' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2  runs per game  this season, so Jefferson's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Woodbury Central, their homestand will continue as they prepare to take on Logan-Magnolia on Saturday.
