Basketball Recap: Dakota Ridge's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Dakota Ridge needed a changed in momentum after dropping four straight games and they got it from Darian Lewis. The Dakota Ridge Eagles secured a 52-47 W over the Eagle Valley Devils on Saturday thanks in part to Lewis, who went 9 for 19 on her way to 24 points along with five rebounds and five steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Emery Bowman was another key player, putting up 11 points and eight boards. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played.

When it comes to explaining why Eagle Valley lost, don't look at Addison Mandeville. Despite the final result, she went 9 of 15 en route to 20 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Talbot, who posted eight points in addition to ten rebounds and three steals.

Dakota Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Eagle Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dakota Ridge will welcome Green Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Green Mountain is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.7 points per game this season. As for Eagle Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chatfield at 2:30 p.m. on January 25th.
