Football Recap: Simla Starts off Right with Win over Hoehne + How To Watch

Simla gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They walked away with a 39-28 victory over the Hoehne Farmers. The Cubs haven't had any issues with the Farmers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Simla's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ethan Kissam, who picked up 59 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 117 yards on only 11 carries. Those 117 rushing yards gave Kissam a new career-high. Simla also got help from Tatum Kocerha, who showed off his sure hands for 133 receiving yards.

When it comes to explaining why Hoehne lost, don't look at Brody Silvey. Despite the final result, he rushed for 163 yards and one score while picking up 9.6 yards per carry, and also caught one TD. Jake Magninat also helped out as he racked up 105 rushing yards.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Simla will square off against Fowler at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hoehne, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Sargent at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th.
