Recap: Trego Golden Eagles vs. Victoria Knights
There's no place like home for the Trego Golden Eagles, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against Victoria by a score of 51-43 on Friday. The win was just what Trego needed coming off of a 55-34 defeat in their prior matchup.
Trego can attribute much of their success to Dani Shubert, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Shubert has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Ziegler, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Victoria's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Averi Windholz, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Windholz scored a full 30.2% of Victoria's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Myah Younger, who scored nine points along with seven steals and five rebounds.
Trego now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Victoria, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Trego won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Ness City at 12:00 p.m. on December 9th. Allowing an average of 55.7 points per game, Ness City has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this contest. Victoria won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Northern Valley at 9:00 a.m. on December 9th. Hopefully Northern Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Thursday.
