Basketball Recap: Bryan Comes Up Short

Bryan had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 7-8 to make it four. They came up short against the Patrick Henry Patriots, falling 56-33. The Golden Bears were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-13.

As for Patrick Henry, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.2 points on average over those games.

Patrick Henry got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ada Christman out in front who posted six points in addition to eight assists and five boards. Christman has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Meyta Hieber was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Bryan will venture away from home to challenge Memorial at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Roughriders have been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Patrick Henry, they will head out on the road to take on Liberty-Benton at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' defense has only allowed 29.2 points per game this season, so the Patriots' offense will have their work cut out for them.
