Recap: Hilton Head Prep Dolphins vs. Beaufort Academy Eagles
The Hilton Head Prep Dolphins scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They came out on top against Beaufort Academy by a score of 53-40. Given Hilton Head Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while Beaufort Academy is ranked 248th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hilton Head Prep got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ben Frey out in front who scored 12 points along with five assists and three steals. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Brendan Moore, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
Hilton Head Prep pushed their record up to 6-1 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Beaufort Academy, they have fallen quite a ways from their 19-9 record last season and are now at 1-3.
Hilton Head Prep won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Hammond at 3:30 p.m. on December 16th. Beaufort Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hilton Head Prep at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
