Volleyball Recap: Oliver Ames Beats Whitman-Hanson Regional for Their Ninth Straight Victory

Oliver Ames put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Whitman-Hanson Regional Panthers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tigers also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2016.

Among those leading the charge was Evan Casey, who had four digs and three aces.

They weren't the only good server: Oliver Ames was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in four consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, Whitman-Hanson Regional saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Nguyen Vo had ten digs and two assists. Vo is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last five games she's played. Madison Corrado also deserves some recognition as she had her first digs of the season.

Oliver Ames' record is now 9-0. As for Whitman-Hanson Regional, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oliver Ames will challenge North Attleborough at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Whitman-Hanson Regional, they will square off against Marshfield at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
