Softball Recap: Sissonville Indians vs. Wheeling Park Patriots

Sissonville proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 13) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Wheeling Park Patriots. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Indians have posted since April 24, 2024.

Sissonville let Ana Soblit and Allison Jarrett run wild. Soblit went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI, while Jarrett went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Jarrett a new career-high. Jayme Robinson also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Sissonville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wheeling Park only posted a batting average of .179.

Sissonville's victory bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Wheeling Park, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-11.

Coincidentally, Sissonville and Wheeling Park will both be playing Frankfort the next time they take the field. The Patriots will host the Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Indians will host them at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
