Basketball Recap: Mabel-Canton Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Mabel-Canton and Rushford-Peterson squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Mabel-Canton had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Rushford-Peterson Trojans and fell 81-33. The Cougars have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meetings.

When it comes to explaining why Mabel-Canton lost, don't look at Isaac Underbakke. Despite the final result, he shot 4-for-5 from long range and dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten boards. Underbakke continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Mabel-Canton's loss dropped their record down to 10-18. As for Rushford-Peterson, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-4.

As of now, neither Mabel-Canton nor Rushford-Peterson have any future games scheduled.
