Basketball Recap: Stansbury Takes a Loss

Stansbury was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were dealt a 73-35 loss at the hands of the Morgan Trojans. The Stallions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-14.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Morgan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kolton Asay, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 19 points and five rebounds. Asay has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Bracken Saunders was another key player, going 7 of 13 on his way to 17 points along with five assists and four steals.

Stansbury's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Morgan, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1.

Stansbury will take on Gunnison Valley in a tournament on Friday. As for Morgan, they will host Uintah at 4:00 p.m. on December 30th.
