Basketball Recap: Valley Drops Highest Score of Season Against Milford

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Valley). They walked away with a 64-54 victory over the Milford Tigers on Wednesday. This was payback for the Buffalos, who suffered a 73-64 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jexton Ashworth, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten boards. Thanks to that strong game, Ashworth now owns an excellent 45.8% field goal percentage. Marco Saavedra was another key player, putting up 11 points.

The win made it two in a row for Valley and bumps their season record up to 2-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points over those games. As for Milford, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valley will welcome North Summit at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Buffalos' defense better be ready for this one: the Braves have averaged an impressive 66.1 points per game this season. As for Milford, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Millard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
