Basketball Recap: Beddingfield Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Beddingfield came tearing into Monday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 points), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 61-50 win over the Princeton Bulldogs. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 62-45 win last Thursday.

Leading Beddingfield to victory were Natasha Marshall and Sa'Naiya Coppedge. Marshall dropped a double-double with 25 points and ten assists, while Coppedge dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Marshall has scored at least a third of Beddingfield's points. Zakiyah Dixon was another key player, putting up seven points and four steals.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Beddingfield was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Princeton only seven assists.

Princeton's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aubrey Johnson, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards. The dominant performance also gave Johnson a new career-high in shooting accuracy (63%). Another player making a difference was Paisley Beddingfield, who posted 16 points and three steals.

Beddingfield pushed their record up to 7-14 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points over those games. As for Princeton, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-20 record this season.
