Basketball Recap: Sugar Creek Charter Takes a Loss

Sugar Creek Charter played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 73-5 loss at the hands of the Jackson Day Mariners. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Mariners: they've now lost four in a row.

Tralyn Phillips was her usual excellent self, going 9 for 20 en route to 21 points along with six assists and six steals for Jackson Day. Mya Young was another key player, going 6 of 14 on her way to 13 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Sugar Creek Charter's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Jackson Day, they pushed their record up to 14-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Sugar Creek Charter will host Piedmont Community Charter at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jackson Day, they will face off against Queen's Grant at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
