Basketball Recap: Washington School for the Deaf Triumphs

If Oregon School for the Deaf wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Washington School for the Deaf, they should've done a better job of containing Nathan Yerkes. The Washington School for the Deaf Terriers claimed a resounding 52-20 victory over the Oregon School for the Deaf Panthers thanks in part to Yerkes, who went 10 for 18 on his way to 22 points and eight steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Washington School for the Deaf's points.

La'Juan Malone was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 11 assists and nine steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in steals.

The win got Washington School for the Deaf back to even at 3-3.

Washington School for the Deaf wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 48-23 loss against Three Rivers Christian on the 9th. As for Oregon School for the Deaf, they will welcome Livingstone Adventist Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th.
