Defending national champion Clemson putting together historic recruiting class

Tigers have already received commitments from four 5-star prospects.

Dabo Swinney has turned Clemson into a national power and everyone is taking notice. The four-time defending ACC champs are coming off their second national title in three years and will likely enter the fall as college football's preseason No 1.

With four 5-star prospects already on board, the Tigers currently have the No. 1-rated class for 2020 and are in play for two uncommitted Top 10 targets.

Headlining the haul is No. 1 player overall in defensive end Bryan Bresee of Damascus (Md.).

See the video below for highlights of Clemson's class.

Should the Tigers maintain their current momentum, the class could go down as one of the best of all-time.

One of the most impressive aspects of the group is the geographic diversity. Clemson has pledges from the top two players from Florida, the No. 2 overall player from California, two of the Top 10 players from the DMV, the No. 1-rated safety from Texas and players from five other states (Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee).

Expect Clemson to be in the mix for 5-stars Jordan Burch, Myles Murphy, Justin Flowe, Arik Gilbert and Julian Fleming.

Clemson has never finished better than seventh in the nation when it comes to recruiting classes since Swinney was elevated to the top spot in 2009. The Tigers have finished in the Top 10 four of the previous 11 years (2011, 2015, 2018 and 2019) according to 247Sports composite rankings.
