Basketball Recap: Eli Shannon Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Jasper

The Saltillo Tigers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 67-64 win over the Jasper Vikings on Tuesday.

Saltillo got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Eli Shannon out in front who went 6-for-15 en route to 22 points. Those 22 points gave Shannon a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lennox White, who shot 63% from the field on his way to 17 points.

Saltillo's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Jasper, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Saltillo will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Grenada at 7:30 p.m. This will be the Tigers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Jasper, they will square off against Selma at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
