Volleyball Recap: East Lincoln Comes Up Short

If East Lincoln was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Mountain Island Charter last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. East Lincoln lost 3-0 to the Lincoln Charter Eagles on Wednesday. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

East Lincoln took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-14, 25-18.

Leading Lincoln Charter to victory were Eli Withers and Axel Carballo. Withers had 11 digs and four aces, while Carballo had two aces and one assist. Carballo is crushing it when it comes to aces: he's served at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

East Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Lincoln Charter, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

After both having extra time off, East Lincoln and Community School of Davidson will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lincoln Charter, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Mountain Island Charter on the 27th.
