After losing to Mountain Grove the last time they met, Cabool decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Bulldogs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Panthers on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since September 20th.

Cabool was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-14, 23-25, 25-17, 15-10.

Jayne Thompson paced Cabool's offense, picking up 26 kills. Thompson got some help from Cambree Woodard and her 41 assists.

Cabool's victory bumped their record up to 21-7-3. As for Mountain Grove, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9-1 record this season.

Cabool and Mountain Grove should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. The Bulldogs (ranked 128th) will meet Salem (ranked 306th) at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mountain Grove will square off against Mansfield at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (206 vs. 429).
