Softball Recap: Lincoln Gets the Win

While Lincoln didn't have the best season last year (they finished 14-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They had just enough and edged out the Mountain Brook Spartans 5-4 on Saturday. That's more bragging rights for the Golden Bears, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Aubrey Machen, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That triple was her first of the season. Kinsley Crow was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Lincoln always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .522. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

Lincoln has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. Mountain Brook's loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincoln will venture away from home to take on Oxford at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mountain Brook, they will head out to face off against Briarwood Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
