Softball Recap: Branham Sets Scoring Season-High Against Wilcox

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Branham). They were the clear victor by a 16-6 margin over the Wilcox Chargers on Tuesday. This was payback for the Bruins, who suffered a 7-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Kaitlyn Douglas and CC Bonnard did most of the damage at the plate: Douglas went 3-for-4 with four runs, two doubles, and one triple, while Bonnard scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance gave Douglas a new career-high in runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Autumn Burns, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Branham kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Branham now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Wilcox, their record now sits at 2-2.

Looking ahead, Branham will host Everett Alvarez at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wilcox, they are headed away from home for the first time to take on Saratoga at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
