            For the first time this season, Whitney will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They are taking a road trip to  challenge the Del Oro Golden Eagles  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Whitney will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  points each  matchup than the last.
Whitney's defense heads into the  game  hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed  on Friday. They blew past Davis Sr. 43-0. Given the Wildcats' advantage  in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 198th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 711th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

  Carson Floyd looked great while leading his team to the win,  throwing for 154 yards and two  TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave  him a new career-high in  passer rating (158.6).  Landon Tarble helped  Floyd out on the ground, rushing for 60 yards and one  score on only seven carries.
Meanwhile,  after soaring to 61  points the game before, Del Oro was a bit more limited  in their  contest  on Friday. They fell  12-8 to Oak Ridge. The loss was the Golden Eagles' first of the season.
 Even if they lost, Del Oro's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess:  Colby Sjolie,  Evan Hilmen,  and  Ty Sauve, who each picked up one  sack apiece.
 Whitney's win  ended  a  five-game drought at home  dating back to last season and  bumped them up to 2-2. As for Del Oro, their  loss was their first of the  season and  makes their record 3-1.
 Whitney won a  matchup that couldn't have been any closer  in their previous meeting  back in September of 2024, slipping by Del Oro 21-20. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
