Basketball Game Preview: Cedar Hill Longhorns vs. Mesquite Skeeters

The Cedar Hill Longhorns will face off against the Mesquite Skeeters at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Cedar Hill's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.

On Tuesday, Cedar Hill came up short against Lancaster and fell 69-57. While losing is never fun, the Longhorns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Tigers are ranked 13th).

Meanwhile, Mesquite was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 64-48 to Horn. While the Skeeters didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Jaguars 14-10 in the first quarter.

Mesquite's defeat dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Cedar Hill, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-12 record this season.

Cedar Hill skirted past Mesquite 72-69 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Will Cedar Hill repeat their success, or does Mesquite have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
