Soccer Game Preview: Cambridge Academy vs. Charleston Collegiate

The Cambridge Academy Cougars will take on the Charleston Collegiate Sundevils at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cambridge Academy will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Cambridge Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They never let First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest get on the board and left with a 4-0 win last Wednesday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Cambridge Academy considering their one-goal performance the game before.

Katie Funderburk and Izzy Southerland scored all four of Cambridge Academy's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 13 goals.

Charleston Collegiate fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against Conway Christian.

Cambridge Academy pushed their record up to 9-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three matchups. As for Charleston Collegiate, their win bumped their record up to 3-10.
