Softball Recap: Perry Beats Liberty for Their Third Straight Victory

Perry waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the Liberty Lions. The Pumas have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

Julianna Nava spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brynlee Brassfield was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted over her last 11 games. CC Hall was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Perry was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They are 7-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Perry pushed their record up to 13-11 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Liberty, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-14-1.

Perry didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Tucson High Magnet School on the 22nd. As for Liberty, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 9-8 victory against Boulder Creek on the 22nd.
