Basketball Recap: First Presbyterian Day Vikings vs. Windsor Academy Knights
First Presbyterian Day was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a hard 61-44 fall against the Windsor Academy Knights. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-47 back in December of 2024.
Despite the defeat, First Presbyterian Day saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jones Handberry dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 boards. Another player making a difference was Peyton Howard, who posted four points.
Windsor Academy had a senior duo take command as Gavin Snow dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds and Landen Locke dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards. Chris Lamar was another key player, putting up 11 points and six rebounds.
First Presbyterian Day's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Windsor Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-11.
First Presbyterian Day didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 89-37 defeat against Tattnall Square Academy on the 17th. Windsor Academy has also already played their next matchup, a 77-70 loss against Gatewood on the 20th.
