Baseball Game Preview: Edgewood Rams vs. Harford Tech Cobras

Edgewood is 1-9 against Harford Tech since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Rams will welcome the Cobras at 3:30 p.m. Edgewood has given up an average of 13.9 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Edgewood came up short against Havre de Grace on Friday, falling 20-4.

Meanwhile, Harford Tech had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Bobcats. That's two games straight that the Cobras have won by exactly four runs.

Carter Manara spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Zach Lane was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Harford Tech: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three hits, but 2-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Aiden Sullivan, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Harford Tech kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.6.

Harford Tech's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Edgewood, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.
