While Bonita's victory against Ayala wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bearcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Bulldogs on Wednesday. The Bearcats haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Bonita was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 20-25, 23-25, 25-23, 15-9.

Leading Bonita to victory were Shyanne McCutcheon and Kayla Knight. McCutcheon had 16 digs and six assists, while Knight had ten digs. McCutcheon has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last nine times she's played.

Bonita was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in three consecutive games.

Bonita's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Ayala, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-8.
