Davenport is a perfect 3-0 against Newport since September of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Gorillas will take on the Grizzlies at 6:30 p.m. Davenport will be strutting in after a win while Newport will be coming in after a loss.

On Tuesday, Davenport earned a 3-1 victory over Reardan. The win continues a trend for the Gorillas in their matchups with the Screaming Eagles: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Newport's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to Northwest Christian School.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-20, 25-16.

Newport's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Davenport, their victory bumped their record up to 10-3.

Everything went Davenport's way against Newport in their previous matchup back in September, as Davenport made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Gorillas since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
