Sacred Heart extended their postseason success on Monday against Taylorsville. They walked away with a 7-4 win over the Tartars. The victory was familiar territory for the Crusaders, who have now won 18 contests in a row.

Kyron Murphy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Colter Garner, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI and two doubles. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Darren Brown, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two RBI.

Sacred Heart pushed their record up to 26-6 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Taylorsville, the defeat snapped their winning streak at nine games and leaves them with a 19-11 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Tartars beat Sacred Heart by a score of 16-5 on Tuesday.
