Baseball Game Preview: Page Pirates vs. Wheatmore Warriors

The Page Pirates are headed away from home for the first time to square off against the Wheatmore Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wheatmore took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Page, who comes in off a win.

On Wednesday, Page earned a 22-18 victory over Dudley. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Christian Johnson was a standout: he scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Moore, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances.

Page always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .612. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, Wheatmore didn't have quite enough to beat Central Davidson on Wednesday and fell 6-5.

Page's record now sits at 2-0. As for Wheatmore, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Page might still be hurting after the 8-2 loss they got from Wheatmore in their previous meeting back in March of 2017. Can Page avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
