Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Franklin). Everything went their way against the Lawson Lightning on Friday as they made off with a 15-5 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Admirals as it spelled an end to their nine-game losing streak.
Addison Myers made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Chloe Rowland was incredible, firing off four runs, five RBI, and three doubles while going 4-for-5. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Journey Josselyn also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Franklin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Franklin's record now sits at 2-11. As for Lawson, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
Franklin didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-0 defeat against Summit on the 1st. As for Lawson, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Battle Ground Academy at 4:30 p.m. on the 8th.
