Softball Game Preview: Newport Harbor Sailors vs. Marina Vikings

Newport Harbor hasn't had much luck against Marina recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Sailors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vikings at 3:15 p.m. Newport Harbor has given up an average of 8.1 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Newport Harbor is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Huntington Beach, falling 13-1.

Newport Harbor saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ally Shaw, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Marina didn't have quite enough to beat Los Alamitos on Thursday and fell 6-4. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Newport Harbor's loss dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Marina, they now have a losing record of 12-13.

Newport Harbor might still be hurting after the 12-1 defeat they got from Marina when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Sailors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
