Softball Recap: Portland Christian Comes Up Short

The Portland Christian Eagles lost 18-6 to the Fern Creek Tigers on Monday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Vivian McFarland made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Portland Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Fern Creek, the win snapped their losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 4-9 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Portland Christian will welcome DuPont Manual at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Crimsons have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Fern Creek, they will face off against Jeffersontown at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The contest will give the Tigers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
