Football Recap: Cut Bank Comes Up Short

Cut Bank extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 2-3. They were dealt a 55-6 defeat at the hands of the Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson Mustangs. If the Wolves were looking for revenge after losing 45-16 to the Mustangs when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0. Considering they have won four games by more than 26 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kazner Oxarart led the charge by throwing for 161 yards and three TDs while completing 87.5% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave Oxarart a new career-high in passer rating (166.7). Dawson Hammond was in the mix too, providing Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson with two scores.

Looking ahead, Cut Bank will venture away from home to face off against Conrad at 7:00 p.m. on October 4. The Wolves' defense better be ready for this one: the Cowboys have averaged an impressive 28.2 points per game this season. As for Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson, they will host Killdeer at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
