Baseball Recap: Lemoore Triumphs

After losing to Selma the last time they met, Lemoore decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Tigers skirted past the Bears 6-4. That's two games straight that the Tigers have won by exactly two runs.

Tobin Juarez spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits.

At the plate, Tristan Puga was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Esteban Gonzalez, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

The win got Lemoore back to even at 2-2. As for Selma, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Looking ahead, Lemoore will head out on the road to take on San Joaquin Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Selma, they will take on Kerman in a tournament on Tuesday.
