Baseball Recap: Springfield Gardens Comes Up Short

Springfield Gardens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Metropolitan, falling 17-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Eagles of the 13-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2018.

Springfield Gardens' defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Metropolitan, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Springfield Gardens and Metropolitan will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Golden Eagles see the field they'll take on Bryant at 4:00 p.m. on the 21st. As for Metropolitan, their break will end when they face Flushing at 4:00 p.m. on the 21st.
