Berrien Springs had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 4-9 to make it seven. They fell 9-5 to the Buchanan Bucks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bucks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-2 on Tuesday.

Ethan McCrary and Brody Brewer stepped up to the plate in a big way. McCrary went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run, while Brewer went 2-for-3 with three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Mcfarland, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

As for Buchanan, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-11. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games.

On Buchanan's side, Jake Franklin was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Franklin is becoming a predictor of the Bucks' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 4-10 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Connor Billington, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Berrien Springs will challenge Dowagiac at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Buchanan, they will face off against Constantine at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
