Basketball Recap: Godby Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Godby couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They were beaten by the Rickards Raiders 70-36 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cougars have suffered since December 6, 2024.

It was another big night for Genesis Henry, who went 8-for-13 to rack up 20 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals for Rickards. What's more, Henry also posted a 62% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kindal Harrell, who went 5-for-10 en route to 13 points and five boards.

Godby's loss dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Rickards, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-3.

Godby does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rickards, they have already played their next match, a 45-32 victory against Menendez on the 13th.
