Baseball Recap: Hidden Valley Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Hidden Valley extended their winning streak to three on Monday, bumping them up to 10-4. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Glenvar Highlanders. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Wyatt Clarke was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of William Woodson, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Hidden Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.

As for Glenvar, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by just one run.

On Glenvar's side, Cale Vaughan made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run. Another player making a difference was Evan Johnson, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

Coming up, Hidden Valley will host Northside at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Titans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Glenvar, they are taking a road trip to take on Martinsville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
