Softball Recap: Saratoga Springs Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three games, Saratoga Springs finally came back down to earth on Wednesday. They came up short against the Columbia Blue Devils, falling 8-0. The match marked the first time this year in which the Blue Streaks were not able to get on the board.

Saratoga Springs' defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-4. As for Columbia, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Saratoga Springs will challenge rival Averill Park at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Columbia is set to square off against their familiar foe Shenendehowa at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Blue Devils 3.3, the Plainsmen 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
