Basketball Game Preview: Yorkville Foxes vs. Plainfield North Tigers

The Yorkville Foxes will venture away from home to take on the Plainfield North Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are out to turn their luck around after having lost tight contests in their previous games.

Yorkville is headed into the matchup having just suffered their closest defeat since January 30, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Oswego East by a score of 51-48. While losing is never fun, the Foxes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 225th, while the Wolves are ranked 74th).

Meanwhile, Plainfield North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 61-58 heartbreaker at the hands of Nazareth Academy.

Yorkville's defeat dropped their record down to 13-15. As for Plainfield North, their loss dropped their record down to 16-12.

Yorkville suffered a grim 61-36 defeat to Plainfield North in their previous matchup back in January. Can Yorkville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
